Product Name: Elastase
CAS No.: 39445-21-1
Property:white needle-like crystals or a slightly yellow lyophilised powder. Molecular weight 25000 (pancreas). Soluble in water, it is a broad-spectrum protein hydrolase characterised by the breakdown of insoluble elastin, which can be extracted from animal pancreas or produced by microbial fermentation. Elastase purified from animal pancreas is a peptide chain endonuclease containing 240 amino acid residues, isoelectric point PI9.5, optimum pH 8.1-8.8, at 4-6°C, pH 5-10 enzymatic activity can be maintained for several days, lyophilised powder can be stored below 5°C for 6-12 months, inactivated when exposed to strong acids, can catalyse the hydrolysis of other peptide bonds formed by elastin peptidase or neutral amino acids.
Application:Biochemical studies. Microbial elastase, like pancreatic elastase, has broad hydrolytic properties, not only degrading elastin, but also a wide range of proteins such as casein, gelatin, haemofibrin, haemoglobin and albumin, and is a broad-spectrum peptide chain endonuclease. It is a broad-spectrum peptide chain endonuclease that increases lipoproteinase activity and has the effect of A-lipoproteinase, preventing the synthesis of cholesterol in the body and promoting its conversion to bile acids.
